There's still time to vote and make Corby's woodland a national winner

There are just a few days left to vote for one of Corby’s woodlands in a national competition.

Earlier this year Thoroughsale and Hazel Wood received the Green Flag Award and is in the running to be the People’s Choice site of the year.

Corby Council is urging all residents and visitors to get behind the borough’s much loved, unique green space by voting it their favourite.

The People’s Choice Award is an annual online vote that gives the public the power to decide which one of the Green Flag sites should be named park or green space of the year.

To vote visit,www.greenflagaward.org.uk, select the East Midlands region on the interactive map, zoom in to find Thoroughsale and Hazelwood, click for more details and then click the ‘vote for this site’ button.

Corby Council’s lead member for environment, Cllr Paul Beattie, said: “We are urging all residents, businesses and visitors of the borough to get behind Thoroughsale and Hazelwood and vote for it today.

“So much work has and still is being done throughout the woodland that it truly deserves all the recognition it can get and being voted Site of the Year would be a real achievement.”

Voting closes at midday on Tuesday, October 1.
