Business leaders have welcomed the announcement Starbucks is to open a shop in the north of the county.
The coffee giant has revealed plans to create 25 jobs in Kettering at a new branch, only its second in Northamptonshire, which is due to open by the end of the summer.
A spokesman for Starbucks said: “We can confirm that a new store is due to open in September on the Kettering Business Park, in partnership with Euro Garages.
“This store will create about 25 jobs.”
The shop will be located on land to the east of the A6003, just north of Kettering.
Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “It is great news that Starbucks will be bringing 25 jobs to Kettering and adds weight to the most recent unemployment figures, which were released earlier this month and show that unemployment dropped in Kettering from 2,354 people in April to 2,269 in May.
“This modest improvement shows that the local jobs market remains robust and that companies are creating jobs while circumstances remain challenging.
“Our economy is recovering, albeit slowly. The Government must now take action to ensure this recovery continues.
“Only a clear growth strategy set alongside existing plans for deficit reduction will give businesses the confidence to grow further and create even more jobs.”
