The date has been set for this year’s St George’s Day celebrations in Rushden, with an array of events planned for all the family.
Rushden Town Council has planned an extravaganza for Saturday, April 20, with a dragon, maypole dancers and a marching band all taking part in the festivities.
The events will take place from 11am to 3pm in the centre of Rushden High Street.
The dragon will leave John Street at 11am, led by the Waterloo Drummers marching band who will perform as they march.
The procession will arrive in High Street shortly afterwards.
The children from Alfred Street school will then perform their maypole dancing.
This will be followed by a range of other events, including a fancy dress competition.
Children will be able to get into the festive spirit of the day by helping to make craft dragons and getting their face painted.
