An Islip man has handed over more than £1,300 to Kettering General Hospital he has raised through street collections and sponsored walks – all while dressed as his favourite superhero Spider-Man.
Leslie Jeffrey, 60, presented the cash earlier this month and it takes his running total of fundraising for the hospital to more than £7,000 in five years.
Mr Jeffrey said: “I’m doing a 38-mile sponsored walk next year which will be my last.
“But I’ll still be at events like Kettering Carnival dressed as Spiderman to raise money.”
Mr Jeffrey has raised money to help buy recliner chairs for the hospital in the past, and next year he wants to raise money to help buy walking frames for patients.
He began fundraising for the hospital in 2009 and has been presented with a certificate by the hospital in recognition of his efforts.
