Snow could fall in Northamptonshire next week for the first time this winter.
Pitsford Hall Weather Station forecasts that, while it is likely to be largely sunny and mild for the rest of this week, colder weather after Sunday will bring the risk of snow.
The full forecast predicts some rain tonight after a mild and sunny day, and the rain is likely to be still around tomorrow morning.
It will eventually clear to leave a dry and fairly bright afternoon with spells of sunshine.
Friday should be largely dry, with some good sunshine through the morning and gentle breeze.
However, cloud will tend to build later in the day bringing outbreaks of rain by evening.
The start of the weekend is set fair, but there will be heavy rain late on Sunday accompanied by a strengthening wind.
This rain will be followed by a cold easterly flow heading into next week and, for the first time this winter, snow will start to present a risk across the county.
