Staff and students at the Ferrers Specialist Arts College are celebrating some of the best results the school has ever seen.
The headline figure of five grade A*-C GCSEs including English and maths has improved by eight per cent since last year and is the highest the school has seen since the measure was introduced.
There have been some outstanding individual performances including Amelia Mitchell, Jamie Manley, Taylor Sutton, Megan Bell and Matthew Chambers, all of whom achieved 10 or more A and A*grades. And Kitty Denton gained an A* in her dance GCSE despite only being in Year 8. She is now going on to start her AS course next year.
Mr Giles, principal, said, “It is always very gratifying when the hard work of the staff and students pays off with such pleasing results. My congratulations go to our students for all their achievements.”
