A taste of the Caribbean came to Wellingborough for the town’s annual carnival.

The council’s annual party weekend kicked off on Saturday, July 4, as schools, businesses, pubs, community groups and more dressed up for the carnival parade.

The parade began at Broad Green at 1pm and wound its way through the town centre to Croyland Park.

Spectators lined the streets to see the parade as it moved down High Street, along Church Street and then Market Street, before turning on to Midland Road and round Castle Way before heading up Sheep Street and Silver Street.

It finished up at Croyland Park at about 2.30pm.

The fun continued into Sunday, July 5, with live music from midday to 7pm, again at Croyland Park.

Local performers and tribute bands took to the stage to entertain the crowds, with the event hosted by Connect FM breakfast show presenters Mark and Liz.

As well as the music, the park featured a fun fair, craft stalls, food stands and a licensed bar.
