Romans rubbed shoulders with Roundheads at the weekend.
Kelmarsh Hall was transformed for a festival of historical entertainment with the return of History Live!, Europe’s largest living history event.
It took place on Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20.
About 2,000 re-enactors, costumed interpreters and performers came together as English Heritage brought the story of England’s past to life.
The event featured battle re-enactments, explosive displays and shows.
There was also a historical funfair, with have-a-go jousts and mini-battles for the younger visitors.
The centenary of the outbreak of the First World War was commemorated with displays on the sacrifice of the men, women and horses on the frontline, and the transformation wrought by the conflict.
