Crowds of people turned out to watch a parade through Irchester and take part in Irchester gala.
The parade started at Parsons Hall yesterday afternoon (Sunday, June 16) and made its way to the Alfred Street sports ground where the gala was held.
There was plenty for everyone to do with rides on the Little Red Bus, music from the Melton Mowbray Toy Soldiers Band and lots of stalls from community groups as well as various charities, including Crazy Hats.
Dog owners lined up to enter their pets in a range of competitions. Ann May was there with her two dogs Rusty and Maisie which she was entering in the Prettiest Bitch competition.
She said: “It’s the first time we’ve entered our dogs, but we come to the gala every year.
“It’s always very popular, even when the weather’s horrible.
“It’s all about the community getting together and you meet people you haven’t seen for a while.”
