A church in Higham Ferrers is looking more heavenly than ever this weekend.
An Angel Festival is taking place at St Mary’s Church over this weekend, when almost 70 angels will be on display in created by local businesses, residents and organisations.
In addition there will be a hamper raffle and refreshments served in the Bede House with craft stalls to browse.
Times of opening will be from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and midday to 5pm on Sunday. Admission is £3 for adults, under-16s free.
Saturday is also Christmas Sparkle day in Higham Ferrers from 11am to 6.30pm.
A road closure from Cemetery Lane to the Market Square will be in place from 7am with a one-way system in operation and extra parking available in Midland Road.
A myriad of entertainment is promised – Father Christmas in his new grotto in Chichele College, there is a Continental market in College Street, a fairground, refreshments, mulled wine, roast chestnuts, street entertainment, choirs, angel fancy dress parade, Christmas café with craft stalls and entertainment in the Bede House and the Christmas light switch-on at 5pm.
All families are invited to bring their youngsters along to take part in the angels fancy dress parade, with judging at 4pm in Higham Library in Midland Road.
The overall winner of the fancy dress will help the mayor to switch on the lights.
