A HOUSING provider and a community group have teamed up to teach a group of tenants and residents in Woodford how to use the internet.
Spire Homes gave Nene Valley Community Action (NVCA) a £400 grant to cover the cost an 18-month internet contract.
This meant residents at The Shrubberies, one of Spire Homes’ sheltered schemes, who previously had no internet connection in place, could surf the world wide web.
The group had already been given basic computer training, which proved so successful that members requested further training about how to use the internet.
There are two Silver Surfer groups at The Shrubberies and NVCA is hoping to launch another at The Forrester’s in Raunds, also run by Spire.
