People in Northamptonshire are being warned about the possibility of “significant and disruptive” snow on Thursday.
Mike Lewis, manager of Pitsford Hall Weather Station, has predicted that temperatures will remain low during the next few days with outbreaks of rain turning into snow in the next few days.
In his latest forecast, Mr Lewis says: “Outbreaks of rain will eventually reach the county during Wednesday morning, becoming set in for much of the day and turning heavy at times.
“The rain will turn increasingly to snow on Thursday, with the possibility of some significant and disruptive snow for a time during the morning.”
The Met Office issued a weather warning of snow and ice for Northamptonshire on Sunday through to Monday morning.
Drivers were warned to be extra careful as many of the county’s roads contained patches of frost and ice.
