Hundreds of shoppers ignored the snowy conditions and headed to the Rockingham Speedway in Corby eager to grab a bargain at the Joules Sale today (Saturday, March 23).
The event, which runs today until 6pm and tomorrow between 10am and 4pm, saw the prices of hundreds of items of Joules clothing slashed.
Previous events have attracted up to 6,000 visitors from all over the region and although at a first glance today’s event did not look to be as busy as previous ones, staff said people had been queueing before the doors opened this morning.
A plough was being used to clear snow from the speedway’s entrance road to make it easier for bargain hunters to get to the sale.
Shopper Kate Grimshaw, 34, from Corby, said: “I’ve been to the sales here before and they’re usually really good.
“I didn’t know whether this one would be called of but I saw a message on Twitter to say it was going ahead so I came down a little bit later than I usually would, but there were still plenty of things left to look through.”
Lianne Deacon, 29, from Kettering, added: “This is the first time I’ve been to one of the Joules sales here and I’m impressed. I think the Wellies will be the most popular thing today!”
