Shoppers grabbed a share of £1,500 in Tesco gift cards at the new Corby store.

They took up the challenge to enter a cash cube machine set up in the store and grab as many fake notes as they could in a minute to win a share of the gift cards which ranged in value from £5 to £100.

Store manager George King said: “The cash cube was great fun.”

The event was part of a series of activities to mark the launch of the store, off Oakley Road.

The fun continues next week, during half-term, when there will be pancake-tasting and decorating on Shrove Tuesday (February 12), a Valentine’s craft workshop on February 14 and a visit from the Moshi Monsters on Saturday, February 16. The events will take place from 11am until 4pm and the Moshi Monsters will meet their young fans from 11am until 3.30pm.
