Young people in Corby can pick up more than a bargain at Barnardo’s store in Oakley Vale.
Store manager Nick Farrant is offering youngsters an eight-week work experience programme to enhance their CVs and help improve their job prospects.
Volunteers who join the scheme will get a comprehensive grounding in retail, covering areas such as stock control, operating the till and dealing with customers.
At the end of the eight weeks successful candidates will be given a reference they can use to secure work or improve their chances of securing other training opportunities.
The store, in Butland Road next to the Tesco store, is open seven days a week, from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
Volunteers can choose how many hours they work.
For further information or for an informal chat about the scheme, call Nick on 01536 744823.
