A bar in Corby town centre has suddenly closed.
Cafe Con Leche was open on Saturday evening, but did not reopen on Sunday and the venue in Queen’s Square has not been open since.
No-one was answering the phone at the bar, which also serves food, and there was no notice on the door.
It was opened by local man Duncan McLellan in 2009 after the success of a smaller venue in Coporation Street and is a popular place for shoppers to stop for a bite to eat.
It also has a late licence and had recently hosted gigs from local musicians.
The large unit and outside seating area is owned by town property firm Helical Bar.
Town centre manager Daniel Pickard said: “We are talking to the owners about the closure of Cafe Con Leche but we cannot comment further at the moment.”
Lisa McInnes, 22, from the Exeter Estate in Corby said: “I really like it in there so I hope it reopens. The food was nice and it was lovely to sit outside in the summer.
“I’m shocked that it’s closed as it seemed quite popular.”
