A shipment of donated items has left Wellingborough for a three-day trek by road to reach the outskirts of Zagreb in Croatia.

The aid is collected by Refugee Relief, a charity organisation run by Rotarian Bob Parfitt from the Rotary Club of Wellingborough Hatton, from all over the country and donated by companies,

This shipment contains clothes, toiletries, babies’ items, school furniture, games, toys, children’s bicycles, wheelchairs, Zimmer frames and garden tools.

Bob has been sending aid to Croatia since the war of independence that devastated the country in the early 1990s and left parts of the country in ruin and many families displaced with no homes to return to.
