As part of the ongoing construction of the A43 Corby Link Road the western end of the Great Oakley to Newton Road will be closed so a new road bridge to carry the Newton road over the new link road can be built.

Northamptonshire County Council is giving drivers advance warning of the seven-month closure, which starts on Tuesday, October 2.

The closure will be in the immediate vicinity of the existing railway bridge which crosses over the Great Oakley to Newton road.

The closure will unavoidably cause some disruption for road users, as there will be no direct access between the villages of Newton, Great Oakley and Little Oakley, although traffic will still be able to use the Great Oakley to Little Oakley Road.

The diversion route will be signed via the Great Oakley to Little Oakley road and the A43 through Geddington.
