A service station in Corby has won a prestigious award.
The Jet Brobot service station on the Southern Gateway has been named as the UK forecourt showing the best design and development at the Forecourt Trader of the Year Awards.
The site in Uppingham Road beat hundreds of service stations nationwide to be awarded the title.
The 24-hour forecourt was commended for its innovative layout and unusual modern design. The site, which created 20 new jobs, was officially opened by the Mayor of Corby Mohammed Mujibur Rahman in May.
Maureen Tur, area manager for Brobot, said “When we set out to provide Corby with a new petrol station it was important to us that we designed all aspects of the site to suit the everyday lifestyles of local people.
“This award is acknowledgement from the industry that we have achieved our goal.
“We are proud to own the award-wining forecourt, and delighted that Corby residents can now officially say that they have Britain’s best designed service station.”
Judging was based on innovation and development within the design of the entire site, covering all aspects from canopies and pump islands to car parks and facilities.
The forecourt has 30 parking bays so residents can spend as much time as they need on-site without having to make way for other motorists at the pumps. Inside, the on-site Londis has a full convenience range, Costa coffee facilities, an in-store bakery and an area for cooking ready meals.
