More than 140 mobility scooters have been data tagged in Corby this year.
The tagging is a secure method of preventing theft and helping police identify and return stolen scooters to their owners.
PCSO Sue Newman has been attending events and visiting residential and care homes in the area offering the free service.
PSCO Newman said: “Funding was found for a supply of data tags after several thefts of mobility scooters in the area.
“This form of security tagging offers mobility scooter owners the reassurance of being reunited with their scooter if stolen and has received a very positive response.”
