A schoolboy from Raunds is walking the length of Hadrian’s Wall this summer to raise money for a forthcoming charity visit to Borneo.
Elliot York, who attends Manor School, needs to raise nearly £4,000 ahead of the trip, which is planned for 2015. His trip will involve undertaking community work, helping to build a school and teaching local children.
Some of the money raised by the 16-year-old’s 84-mile walk along the length of the famous Roman wall will go to Cancer Research UK.
As well as the Hadrian’s Wall walk, Elliot has a host of other fundraisers planned, including a car boot sale and stalls at local fairs.
He also said he was looking forward to going to Borneo, adding: “The furthest place I have been from England is Germany.”
