PUPILS at Rushden Community College have raised £1,968.14 for Sport Relief by holding a series of fundraising events.

More than 300 students from each year group ran or walked the Sport Relief mile around the school field.

Parents, teachers and support staff also baked cakes for a sale held at the school.

And there was a netball match between teachers and the school netball teams.

A group of 14 students and two members of staff were also sponsored to watch movies all night as part of a fundraising movie marathon sleepover.

English teacher Seely Westley said: “Rushden Community College raised a phenomenal amount of money which will help many, many children and unfortunate others who need support in some way. A tremendous effort by all involved.”
