More than 60 pupils, parents and friends of Warwick Primary School in Wellingborough competed against budding cooks across the country in a healthy cooking challenge.

The school’s Let’s Get Cooking club took part in a national Big Cookathon against clubs in England yesterday.

The competition was aimed at getting the most people cooking healthy recipes on the same day.

Last year more than 50,000 people took part.

The Warwick Primary team made a seven-vegetable curry, bolognaise and savoury crumbles for a chance to win a share of £5,000 in prize money.

Let’s Get Cooking club co-ordinator Vicky McGregor said: “It’s a massive challenge to have so many people cooking all on the same day, but we’re determined to help Let’s Get Cooking notch up its biggest total yet.”
