A church has hosted its annual two-day flower festival, paying tribute to the village school, which has celebrated its 150th birthday.
St Leonard’s Church in Loddington had “My School Days” as its theme for the festival on July 6 and 7, with Loddington Primary School marking a century and a half on Thursday last week.
Arrangements were based on a variety of school-related paraphernalia including satchels, school photos and books, said one of the organisers, Bea Martin.
She added: “There have been some very favourable comments about what’s been done.”
All the money is going towards church funds. Another fundraiser, a dog show, is taking place on Sunday, August 4 at the village’s recreation ground. Proceeds will be split between the church and Welly Dogs.
