NORTHAMPTON Town player Andy Holt visited Sir Christopher Hatton Academy in Wellingborough to support its new reading challenge.
The initiative was launched in March and is designed to raise the profile of literacy among pupils. As part of the scheme, pupils in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 have been encouraged to read as many books as they could over a three-week period.
For each book they read, they had to complete a book review to submit to the teachers in charge of the challenge. Teachers decided on the winners by selecting those who had read the most books and written the best reviews.
Mr Holt spent time with the winners when he visited the school on Monday. He also took part in a press conference style interview carried out by the winners of the challenge.
