Children at Oundle Primary School are celebrating after being given Fairtrade status, making them only the third school in the county to receive the award.

The award is granted by the Fairtrade Foundation in recognition of the school’s understanding of how the lives of farmers and workers across the globe can be improved.

Some of the ways in which the pupils chose to do this was by baking and selling Fairtrade cakes, selling Fairtrade Easter eggs and writing a Fairtrade song.
