A sausage and cider festival will take place in Wellingborough next weekend.

Wellingborough Sausage and Cider Festival runs from midday to 11pm on Saturday June 22 and from midday to 8pm on Sunday June 23. There will be live music on both days and on Saturday there is a family fun day and charity football and rugby seven a side competition.

Organiser Crispin Slee said: “Sausage and cider festivals are a great tradition in the West Country. That’s hardly a surprise as there are few things that go better together. As far as we’re concerned they are the new strawberries and cream.”

Wellingborough sausage maker Duncan Brown, who runs Browns Gourmet Sausages, will make all of the sausages for the festival.

His range includes traditional favourites like Cumberland and Toulouse, but also recipes he has developed himself, like the Anglo Indian, made with garam masala, bay leaves, ginger, garlic and red chillies.

The festival takes place at Wellingborough RFC in Cut Throat lane, Great Doddington.
