Two senior members of staff at Northampton Saints are running the London Marathon to raise money for the Northamptonshire Marie Curie Cancer Care Nursing Service.
Chief executive Allan Robson and commercial director Brian Facer are preparing to pound the streets of the capital in the 26-mile run on Sunday.
Allan and Brian have each set themselves a fundraising target of £2,000, meaning their combined total would be enough to pay for 200 hours of care for terminally ill patients in Northamptonshire this year.
Both men have had personal experience of cancer and decided to support a charity which emphasised caring for patients and their families. Marie Curie provides end-of-life care for terminally ill patients suffering from cancer, but also motor neurone disease, heart disease and other terminal illnesses, so they can spend their last days at home.
