Young shoppers in Wellingborough headed to the jungle this week, as summer fun kicked off with safari-themed activities at Swansgate Shopping Centre.

On Wednesday, July 29, creepy crawlies and reptiles from the Roaming Reptile Show arrived in centre, with children able to get up close and personal to animals including snakes, skunks, lizards and tarantulas.

Visitors also got crafty by making a cowboy hat for the summer of activities and decorating a suncatcher to take home, as well as free face painting.

Swansgate Shopping Centre manager Lindsay Tickner said: “It was fantastic to see so many shoppers join in with the first of our free events, discovering more about safari animals as we travel the globe this summer.

“We look forward to following the World Map Trail on Wednesday, August 12, and having lots more fun!”

Around the World at Swansgate continues on Wednesday, August 12, between 11am and 4pm, where visitors can decorate an explorer’s bag and follow the clues around the centre for the chance to win fantastic prizes.

Famous landmarks from across the globe are arriving on Wednesday, August 26, where shoppers can strike a pose and have their picture snapped next to them, and take a free print out home.
