Kettering will be a stop on a nationwide tour by the Russian State Ballet and Opera House this autumn.
The Lighthouse Theatre will host the company’s family-oriented Swan Lake and Romeo & Juliet on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 respectively.
Shows begin at 7.30pm, with tickets priced at £23, £21 for concessions or £41 for both productions, which feature the music of composers Tchaikovsky and Profokiev.
Produce Alexej Ignatow said: “Unlike many other companies that travel to Europe with ballet and opera productions, we only focus on working with established theatres in the Russian Federation. These theatres have many years of experience and, most importantly, they have an established spine of directors and leaders which have gone through the best artistic institutions in Russia and the former Soviet Union.”
“We ensure that the set and costumes make the production easy to follow. The music is beautiful and sometimes even if you lost in the plot, just close your eyes to enjoy the music.”
