Charles Whitehouse, 17, from Rushden, was awarded the Neville Memorial Trophy for the Best Junior Soldier from the Royal Armoured Corps when he graduated from the Army Foundation College.

Charles, a former Rushden Community College pupil, said: “My mum and dad were really happy and proud that I had won this prize.

“The best bit of the year has been the soldiering at the battle camp in Barrybudden.”
