A Rushden man is in the middle of an epic cycle around England to raise money for the air ambulance.

Nathan Clarke set off on Monday, July 20, and is aiming to cover 5,581 miles around the country in just six weeks – with no support crew.

I wanted a challenge and I thought ‘what better charity than the local air ambulance?’

His target is to raise £5,000 for the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

Nathan said: “I wanted a challenge and I thought ‘what better charity than the local air ambulance?’

“When I learned they have to raise £1,700 for each mission they go out on, I thought I could top that!

“I’m hoping to raise £5,000 – about a pound for every mile I cycle, give or take a few.

“I know we can’t force people to donate, but everyone says yes, that’s a good charity so hopefully they will put their money where their mouth is!”

Nathan is being tracked by GPS throughout his challenge – you can follow his progress daily here.

You can find out about what he’s doing in detail on his blog and his Justgiving page is here.

You can also donate by text by sending NCHF87 £5 to 70070.
