Runners turned out in force for a fun run in the name of charity yesterday morning (Sunday, November 18).
Almost 150 pupils, staff and parents at Kettering Science Academy were up early in chilly conditions for the run from the academy to Wicksteed Park. They were joined by students from France and Germany, who are visiting as part of the Comenius exchange programme.
A spokesperson for the school said the run had been a success, adding: “It was great to see all the pupils who finished waiting at the end to cheer everyone else on.”
Wicksteed Park had also arranged for one of the Olympic torchbearers from this summer to come to the finish line so pupils could be photographed with his torch. Every runner also received a medal at the fiish line.
The academy hopes to make the fun run an annual event.
