A DEVELOPER has applied to open a processing plant for up to 20,000 tonnes of rubbish a year.
Local Skips wants to build a barn to store and handle skip loads of rubbish from seven to nine lorries a day at Woodside in Stoke Albany Road, Desborough.
Staff will hand sort the rubbish, half of which will come from the construction industry, a third from private property and a fifth from commercial contract work.
Recyclable materials will be stored in the barn until there is enough to be taken to recycling centres in Corby. Soil and hardcore will be stored in an external skip or bay.
