Rothwell going to the polls today

The town of Rothwell will go to the polls today (Thursday) to elect a new borough and town councillor after the death of Alan Mills.

Mr Mills died in July having served the town and community for several years.

Voters will now elect a new councillor for the Rothwell ward on Kettering Council and a new councillor for the Tresham ward on Rothwell Town Council.

Standing for the Kettering Council seat are: Malcolm Adcock (Lib Dem), Cedwien Brown (Conservative), Kathleen Harris (Labour), Stevie Jones (Green Party) and Sam Watts (UKIP).

Standing for the Rothwell Council seat are: Malcolm Adcock (Lib Dem), Irene James (Labour) and Tom Morrissey (Conservative).

Polling stations for the Kettering Council voting can be found at the School Rooms at the United Reformed Church in Fox Street and the Community Centre in Well Lane.

For the Rothwell Council election, the only polling station is at the School Rooms at the United Reformed Church in Fox Street.

Voting is open until 10pm tonight.
