A team made up of staff from a fast-food restaurant in Rothwell will be leading a litter pick in the town on Friday.

The group from McDonald’s will begin by walking down the A14 and then into Rothwell via the Bovis Homes estate.

They will also be tidying up along the walkways which lead to the Mounts, before heading into the town centre and the area around the Market Square and Bridge Street.

The initiative is part of a Love Where You Live campaign run by the fast-food giants, and follows a similar event in Kettering last month in which half a tonne of rubbish was collected.

The litter pick begins at 11am at the McDonald’s restaurant, and organiser Ellis Rayson estimates it will be completed by about 1pm.

Anyone is welcome to come along and join in.
