The results of the Rothwell byelection have been announced.

Yesterday’s election had to be held a month after the other elections to Kettering Council due to the death of UKIP candidate Alan Pote.

The three candidates who have been elected to Kettering Council are Alan Mills (Labour), Karl Sumpter and Margaret Talbot (both Conservative).

The final composition of Kettering Council is now 27 Conservatives, eight Labour and one independent.
