People of all ages turned out for a family fun day in Wellingborough.
The sun shone as the Rotary Club of Wellingborough Hatton held its annual family fun day at Bassetts Park in the town.
There was entertainment for all the family, including stalls, fairground rides and refreshments.
Among those who attended Saturday’s event were the new mayor and mayoress of Wellingborough, Cllr Paul Bell and his wife Carol.
Cllr Bell said: “Thank you for inviting the mayoress and I here today to the Wellingborough Hatton family fun day.
“We are delighted to be here and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible during our time here today.
“I would personally like to thank the good work carried out by the Rotary Clubs throughout the world.
“For those of you who don’t know Rotary is a service organisation of business and professional people united worldwide who help those in need.
“They encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and work towards world understanding and peace.
“The Rotary joined forces with Bill Gates to eradicate polio by administering vaccines to countries all over the world and have actually eradicated polio from all countries other than Afghanistan and just one African country.
“I applaud our local Rotary Club of Wellingborough Hatton who help raise money for many local charities and organisations in and around Wellingborough and bring help to those who need it.
“Without the good work of the Rotary this event would not take place here today.
“Congratulations to all of you involved with organising this event.
“I wish you a successful and enjoyable event and hope the Rotary are successful in raising money for their worthy causes.”
