Fresh from the high-stress environment of Parliament, Kettering MP Philip Hollobone was one of more than 100 people to have their blood pressure checked at a Rotary stroke awareness day.

Three of Kettering’s Rotary clubs teamed up with charity the Stroke Association to test people’s blood pressure in the Newlands Centre on Saturday, April 21.

Stuart King, of the Rotary Club of Kettering, said: “It’s an occasion when the Rotary Club invites members of the public to have their blood pressure taken as a service to the community so people don’t find themselves with unusually high blood pressure and get panicky.”

The Rotary Club of Kettering Huxloe and the Rotary Club of Kettering Tresham also helped the medical professionals.
