Road to be closed for annual Christmas lights switch-on in Gretton

Gretton’s countdown to Christmas will officially start this weekend with the switching-on of the Clay Lane lights.

The annual turning on of the Christmas lights in Clay Lane, Gretton, is taking place at 6.30pm on Saturday (November 28).

David and Elaine Clements have organised the event and all funds raised will go to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

There will be mulled wine, mince pies, hot dogs, cakes, sweets and cold drinks as well as a raffle with many prizes donation by indiviuduals and businesses in the village.

Due to the interest in the event, Clay Lane will be closed off on Saturday from 5.45pm to 7.30pm for safety reasons.

Last year’s event raised more than £800 with donations on the night.
