The annual party weekend kicks off on Saturday, July 2, as schools, businesses, pubs and individuals dress up to take part in the spectacular carnival parade that starts at Broad Green at 1pm and winds its ways through the town centre to Croyland Park.

The parade will move down the High Street, along Church Street and then Market Street before turning onto Midland Road and round Castle Way before heading along Sheep Street and Silver Street.

It will then turn left into Oxford Street and head along Northampton Road before ending up at Croyland Park at about 2.30pm.

Traffic in the town centre will be diverted for the duration of the parade on Saturday.

The fun continues on Sunday, July 3, with live music from midday to 6pm, again at Croyland Park, for this year’s Party in the Park.

As well as enjoying music including the headline act Two Tones, the main stage on Sunday will be hosted by Connect FM breakfast Show presenters Mark and Liz.

As usual, Party in the Park will also feature a licensed bar, plenty of food and drink outlets, and lots of stalls to browse.

Admission and parking are free all weekend.

Julia Wells, events officer for Wellingborough Council, said: “Our party weekend is always really special, and even more so this year as the two days are packed with real community entertainment.

“Everyone makes such an effort in the carnival and we hope the sun will shine this year.

“Party in the Park is also a fantastic day out that really brings everyone together.
