With a week to go until the Friends Life Women’s Tour starts in Oundle, the provisional rider list for the event is now available.

Featuring the names of the 96 riders who will make history when they cross the start line at 11am on Wednesday, May 7, the list is headlined by reigning World and Olympic champion Marianne Vos and her Rabo Liv team, with the Dutch woman taking the number one spot.

British cyclists taking part in this inaugural tour include Emma Pooley, riding for Lotto Belisol Ladies, Hannah Barnes, riding for United Healthcare Pro Cycling, Lizzie Armistead, who rides for the Boels Dolman team, and Laura Trott, Dani King, Elinor Barker and Joanna Rowsell, who ride for the Wiggle Honda team.

The rider list will be revised over the following days as teams confirm their final line-ups for the first ever Friends Life Women’s Tour.

The final start list will be confirmed and distributed late afternoon on Tuesday, May 6, following the team managers’ meeting, although organisers SweetSpot expect minimal changes to the provisional list.

Highlights from the five-stage Friends Life Women’s Tour will be shown on ITV4 at 9pm each evening.
