Northamptonshire Police’s Kettering Retail Crime Initiative will be launched at the Newlands Centre in the town on Monday, July 15.

The retail crime initiative is a partnership approach, with town centre police working closely with centre management, shopkeepers and Kettering council.

PC Carl Wilson, from Kettering’s Safer Community Team, will unveil the logo for the scheme, which local students entered a competition to design.

PC Megan Sae-Thang, from the Kettering police team, has also revealed plans for a high-impact day to be held next week, where police will warn shoppers about the dangers of pick-pockets.

They will also give members of the public a chance to have a cuppa with a copper at a drop-in session in Gold Street, which will be run in co-ordination with local charities and Kettering council.
