Residents in Little Stanion are invited to a fun day aimed at helping families become happier and healthier.
It is being organised the NHS Corby Clinical Commissioning Group, the borough council, Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and other partners.
The free event is being held at the village’s Welcome Centre, in Roman Road, from 1pm until 3pm, on Wednesday, August 14.
Health professionals will be there to give out advice and there will be dental samples for children and a childhood illness information guide for parents of young children on a range of symptoms, illnesses and conditions.
As well as the serious stuff, there will be arts and crafts, a junior spa and outdoor games to provide an afternoon of summer fun for children, courtesy of Exeter Children’s Centre and Homestart Corby.
Information stands will include Corby Library Book start Bear scheme and Corby Council’s fitness and community safety teams.
Suzanne Preston, rural pride officer, said “This event was set up in response to some families having difficulty accessing the right kind of health service or advice. We hope residents will take this chance to come along and talk to professionals about any concerns they may have health wise, as well as enjoying some of the fun activities, such as relaxation therapies. This event is open to all, not just Little Stanion residents so everyone is welcome to come along.”
Julie Lemmy, primary care development manager for the NHS Corby Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “We are proud to support this event, promoting awareness of local health care services.”
