Residents can meet the police
at fun day

People who live, work or visit Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire are invited to a fun-filled community open day.

Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire Independent Advisory Group is holding the event, on Sunday, from 11am and 3pm, at the Hindi Community Centre, Highfield Road, Wellingborough.

Vinod Dattani, chairman of the advisory group, said: “This event gives us an opportunity to bring different communities together to promote, understand and respect each other’s cultures.

“Visitors will also have the chance to talk directly with police officers if they have any concerns and hear from a variety of organisations, whilst enjoying entertainment.”

Organisations attending include the police, the fire service, Crimestoppers and Support Wellingborough.

The event will also provide an opportunity for visitors to meet Northamptonshire Police and Crime Commissioner Adam Simmonds.

Northamptonshire Police is always seeking views from communities within the county.

Independent Advisory Groups were set-up as a forum to enable this and are made up of community representatives.
