Animal rescue centre Animals in Need is asking people to support two Christmas initiatives.

It is asking people to make up a Christmas shoebox of goodies including food, treats, toys and a blanket or towel for the cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, chickens and birds that will spend Christmas in the sanctuary.

It is also holding a fundraising Christmas fair on Sunday, November 30, from midday to 3pm.

Admission is £1 and there will be various stalls including Lush and Hope Street cosmetics, a tombola and lucky dip, nearly new and cards and gifts.

Animals in Need is at Pine Tree Farm, Little Irchester. For more details go to www.animals-in-need.org or call 01933 278080.
