Recruitment has started to fill 60 full and part-time jobs being created at a new Corby pub and restaurant which is opening next month.
The Hungry Horse family pub will open on Monday, November 5, and the company is taking on people to fill management roles, kitchen staff, cleaners and people to work in front of house. The pub in Causeway Road has been named the Chequered Flag, a name suggested in a competition run by brewery Greene King and won by Corby resident Malcolm McIlreavy.
He said: “I wanted to suggest something that was current and relevant to the area and I thought of how close the pub and restaurant is to Rockingham racetrack.
“The Chequered Flag came to mind and I sent my suggestion in. We are really looking forward to the opening of the new pub as we have been in a Hungry Horse before and found the food excellent.”
A spokesman for Greene King said: “We hope that everyone will be pleased with our decision and we are looking forward to having Hungry Horse opening in the area.”
