A recruitment day to fill more than 200 jobs at a new distribution centre for Primark is taking place tomorrow (Wednesday).
The opening of the new site just off the A14 at Islip will create hundreds of jobs, with vacancies including shift managers and team managers.
Anyone interested in applying to work there can go along to a recruitment event taking place between 10am and 4pm tomorrow to find out more.
Primark is holding the open day at the Corn Market Hall in London Road, Kettering, so people can get more information about available vacancies at the distribution centre.
Speaking to the Northants Telegraph last month, a spokesman for Primark said: “Primark is delighted to be opening a distribution centre in Islip, Northamptonshire.
“The warehouse covers 1.1 million sq ft.
“The opening of the site will create over 200 new positions through 2016 including shift managers, team managers and depot colleagues.
“Facilities for employees will include a café with hot and cold food service, a pool table, table football, WiFi access, a fitness room and 500 parking spaces.”
Anyone who is unable to attend the open day, which is being supported by Kettering Council by providing the venue for the day, can apply online by going to Primark.com/search-and-apply.
The opening of the new Islip site comes as the Primark centre 35 miles away at Magna Park in Lutterworth is due to close.
Speaking last year, a spokesman for Primark said the transfer of operations from Magna Park to Islip was due to take place by the middle of this year with a view to ceasing activity at Magna Park by September 2016.
The distribution centre in Thrapston will continue to operate in conjunction with the new Islip depot.
It is hoped the move to Islip will provide the budget fashion store with essential capacity and flexibility for growth.
