Reassurance has been offered to anyone concerned by reports on social media about several alleged incidents near Corby pool.
Following the speculation online about two incidents of sexual abuse and kidnap in the town centre, Corby Council issued a statement on the matter.
The statement, published yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, said: “Corby Borough Council and Northamptonshire Police are aware of information that has been circulating today on social media about two incidents of sexual abuse and kidnap in the area of Corby East Midlands International Swimming Pool.
“We wish to put on record that no incidents of this nature have been reported to have occurred today close to the swimming pool.
“Northamptonshire Police investigates all reports of sexual abuse and would urge anyone who has been a victim of this or any crime to report it to police.
“We hope this reassures our customers and community.”
