A council has offered reassurance after fears of an outbreak of myxomatosis.
A Wellingborough Council spokesman said despite concerns about an outbreak in Swanspool Gardens, they hadn’t received any reports.
They added: “There has been a colony of rabbits living on the bank near the Tithe Barn Road council offices for years and every couple of years they do get affected by myxomatosis.
“If this happens, any dead rabbits are removed by Wellingborough Norse’s grounds maintenance staff during their daily checks of the parks.
“There is no risk to public health, and no issues for dogs either.”
